The Five Basics: #1 - Daily Self-Hypnosis
There are Four benefits to the Self-Hypnosis:
- To re-form healthy neuro-net pathways
- Cleanse tension
- Detoxify the body
- Allow your emotions to be your guide
1. Re-Forming neuro-net pathways.
When we have been practicing what Barbra’s mom calls “stinking
thinking” your whole life, it takes time to switch to self-loving and
encouraging thoughts.
In fact in your brain are neuro-net pathways of thought. Meaning
formed nerve cell (neurons) branches from past emotions and
behavior. It is easier for the mind to respond in a previous
behavior because the road has already been set!
You have a different brain depending on what thoughts you think.
This is seen with a musician’s brain compared to an engineer’s
brain. Different parts of the brain are more developed. This is
also true with a positive thinker and a negative thinker!
You must practice positive thought.
A runner wouldn’t wait until the day before a race to prepare.
Athletes train the same thing over and over so they can react without
thinking. Athletes call the developed neuro-net
pathway “muscle memory”. If you want to change a reaction
of anger or fear you must train the mind to be
relaxed. Once practiced for 21 days your new
peaceful neuro-net pathway will be formed, allowing you to respond in a
more centered and peaceful manner to a stressful situation.
Self-Hypnosis allows you to control your response to the world
instead of being a ‘jumping bean’ of reaction. Your inner peace
can become independent of the situation.
2. Cleanse Tension.
We constantly store one drop of tension every day. Eventually the bucket becomes full. We
cleanse our bodies but we do nothing to cleanse our
minds. You must slow down stress hormones in the
middle of the day to heal. If you don't take a break to
re-set in the middle of the day, it is hard for your body to
heal. Stress hormones coat your organs and prevent vitamins
and minerals from absorbing!
Do not try to multi-task your self-hypnosis. Do only
your self-hypnosis, breathing and relaxing, not self-hypnosis, driving,
and planning the day! Take responsibility to calm your body or it
cannot absorb nutrients, lose weight or heal.
3. Detoxify the Body
Toxins and an over-acid body means the same thing. Toxins are acids.
We take over a million breaths a day but we do not defecate or urinate all day. In other words, this is why 60% of your body’s toxins are eliminated through the breath.
Unfortunately we do not know how to breathe.
If you have ever watched a baby breath, have you noticed its stomach
gently going up and down? Well, because of our over- doing and
lack of emotional cleansing we have all become chest breathers.
So, we are not even utilizing those million breaths a day!
Deep breathing 5 times a week for 20 minutes is the most powerful cleansing thing you can do for your body
4. Allow your emotions to guide you.
It is important to give yourself permission to feel emotions. Make
peace with the emotion. It’s only when we resist an emotion does
it persist. If you were to plan any journey, you first have
to know where you are. If you allow yourself to feel it, then and only then can you move up the emotional scale.
The Scale: Depression to Anger to Frustration
to Pessimism, to Apathy, to Hopeful, to Optimistic, to Happy, to
Joy. Allow yourself to move up the scale. Don’t expect to
go from depression to joy overnight. Allow yourself to be angry. It will pass.
Healing is feeling. Our emotions are
our greatest teachers about our lives and ourselves. We
experience fear on our journey to focus our awareness on love. We
experience anger to focus our awareness on compassion. We
experience the opposite so we can focus our thoughts on the awareness
we Do want.
Remember that what you resist will persist. You
make peace with where you are by allowing yourself to feel the
emotion. This is the first step.
