The Five Basics: #2 - Daily Detoxification
There are 14 ways to Daily Detoxification
(Not all the steps need to be done every day. Let your practitioner recommend what is best for you.)
- Castor oil pack
- Dry skin brushing
- Drink 15oz. warm water with 1/2 of lemon in a.m. or 20oz. water with 2 oz. of organic cranberry concentrate.
- Take a warm Dead Sea salt bath or Clay Bath.
- Organic Apple cider vinegar
- Drink half your body weight in ounces of water everyday.
- Juicing
- Add detoxification teas to your water.
- Get more rest/sleep.
- Have 2-3 bowel movements a day.
(#11-14 had to be included because they are the most important way to Daily Detoxify. These are of course discussed in other areas of the handbook.)

1 Castor Oil Pack.
The castor bean (Oleum ricini), also known as Palma Christi, due to
the shape and healing properties, is known principally as a cathartic
(strong laxative). A gentler use is in the form of a pack placed over the
abdomen, with heat applied.
Anything we place on your skin goes directly to the blood stream.
We see this with muscle rubs and hormone patches. We can use this
fact to our advantage by doing castor oil packs.
The oil is absorbed into the body, powerfully stimulating lymphatic flow.
The Phytic Acid in the castor oil stimulates the Pyers Patches of the
small intestine, causing a wonderful lymphatic cleanse.
Materials needed: (Purchase at L.E.A.P. Healing NHC)
Castor Oil
24" x 12" piece of white cotton or wool flannel (a cut white t-shirt works great)
Hot water bottle or heating pad
Sheet of plastic (saran wrap is ok)
Old cotton towel
Castor Oil Pack
You will need to do your Castor Oil Pack(s) ________days a
week, for_______min. by placing the cotton/flannel over
liver. Your liver is in the upper hand quadrant of your abdomen.
Instructions for Castor Oil Pack: 1.
Drizzle castor oil on the cotton/flannel. Fold material in
half to help saturate but not dripping. Note: the
first couple of weeks you use the pack you will need to re-saturate
every couple of days, eventually, the pack will be saturated enough
that reapplication of oil should be every couple of weeks.
2. Lay an old cotton towel out on the surface you will be lying
on. This will prevent staining. Castor oil stains and you
will not likely be able to get it out, be cautious.
3. Lie on your back with your feet elevated (putting a pillow under
your feet & knees) Place cotton/flannel over the
liver.
4. Cover with a sheet of plastic and then place hot water bottle/ heating pad on top.
5. Leave pack on for at least 30 minutes. This is an
excellent time to now do your self-hypnosis. You may wear the
pack all night by using an ace bandage to hold it in place.
6. If desired, after finishing you can remove the oil with a solution
of 2 tbs. of baking soda to 1-quart water. You may also choose to
leave the oil on the skin to be totally absorbed.
7. Store the pack in a large zip lock bag. Reuse the pack until it
changes color (usually after several months). Add more oil
as needed to keep saturated.
2 Dry Skin Brushing
(Purchase brush at L.E.A.P. Healing NHC)
Our skin is a living-breathing organ. Anything we put on the skin goes directly to the bloodstream.
Our skin is very permeable in both directions.
We can put stuff on us to absorb but we can also pull stuff out of the
body through the skin. With dry skin brushing the skin can
eliminate 16oz. of toxins/acid a day!
Directions for Dry Skin Brushing:
1. Brush on dry skin, working inward from extremities toward the heart.
2. Best to do before shower, Dead Sea salt bath or Clay bath.
3. Pink up skin in all areas. Just enough where it is not painful.
4. Areas that have trouble pinking up are stuck areas of lymphatic flow.
5. Be patient it will take several dry skin brushings to open up.
3 Drink water with lemon in the morning or 20 oz. water with 2 oz. of organic cranberry concentrate.
Liver Cleanse
When you first wake in the morning your digestive organs are relaxed and open. When
you drink the water with lemon it can move more quickly through the
digestion creating a wonderful digestive and liver cleanse.
Lemon itself is a wonderful cleansing fruit. Adding lemon to water is not just a summer thing but also a great liver support!
Directions for water and lemon cleanse.
- Prepare the water and lemon the night before
- Use an organic lemon. The water should be as sour as you can stand it.
- Drink mixture at room temperature first thing in the morning. As soon as you sit up drink the mixture.
Kidney Cleansing
Organic concentrate cranberry juice is a wonderful way to flush your kidneys every morning.
Directions for water and cranberry cleanse.
- Add 2 oz of organic cranberry concentrate to 20oz. of water the night before.
- Drink first thing in the morning, as soon as you sit up.
Your practitioner will decide which morning cleanses are right for you.
4 Dead Sea Salt Bath or Clay Bath
(Purchase a Salt and Clay at L.E.A.P. Healing NHC)
Dead Sea Salt baths and Clay baths are a relaxing way to use the skin as a wonderful exit for cleansing the whole body and lymphatics.
Dead Sea Salt has the highest mineral content above sea salt and definitely above Epsom salt. The high mineral content allows maximum detoxification.
Instructions for Dead Sea Salt Bath
- Best if you dry skin brush before to maximize benefits.
- Fill tub with desired temperature of water.
- Dump 1 cup of Dead Sea Salt in the tub as it is filling.
- Enjoy! (Good time to do Self-Hypnosis and breathing)
Clay Baths are a little bit more powerful than Dead Sea Salt.
It is a good thing to start with the Dead Sea Salt. Magnetic Clay
baths also have detoxifying herbs to pull out heavy metals, and
environmental toxins.
Your practitioner will recommend which clay bath is right for you.
Instructions for Magnetic Clay Bath
You will need:
- 1 very large pot or clean bucket
- 1 whisk
- Bath Tub
You will need to do ________Magnetic Clay Baths a
week, for ___________minutes at a time. Normal usage is one
entire bag per treatment, unless otherwise directed.
Dead Sea Salt Bath or Clay Bath.
Instructions for Magnetic Clay Bath.
- Dry skin brush to obtain maximum benefits.
- Fill
large pot or clean bucket ¾ full with “very hot” water. Add clay
slowly so clumping does not occur. Use a whisk to stir the clay
into the water. This will take several minutes of hard
whisking. Be patient.
- Once entire bag is in the water and most of the clumps are gone, add entire mixture to bath water.
- Bath water should be at your desired temperature
- Submerge
entire body into water and relax. (If you can only fit half your
body into the tub, do not worry. The magnetic clay will still
have a powerful cleansing effect.
- You may notice black spots on your skin. These are the toxins leaving your body.
- Wash your body off by taking a shower.
- Be careful getting into and out of the tub, clay can be slippery.
- It is very important to drink plenty of water and take your remedies to support the powerful detoxification.
5 Organic Apple Cider Vinegar.
Take 15 min. before each meal ½ tsp in 3oz-4oz. of warm filtered water.
Many times we eat before the stomach is ready. We rush around
taking care of the kids, doing work etc. and then quickly sit down and
stuff a meal in.
First thing the Organic Apple Cider Vinegar does is to prepare the stomach for food. Then of course you should still slow down on the speed of eating. You should chew each bite at least 10x or your stomach cannot break down the food.
Second thing Organic Apple Cider Vinegar does is replace the good HCL (stomach acid) in the stomach. Heartburn
in most cases is not an over acid stomach. It is food that
could not be digested because the stomach lining has been destroyed
from processed food, coffee, black teas, and soda. The food
hits the stomach and there is no acid to digest it. Then the food
ferments and comes up in the throat. We incorrectly call this
being over-acidic or heartburn.
6 Drink Half Your body weight in ounces of water every day.
For example if you weigh 200 lb you would drink 100 oz . a day.
This is so essential to your healing process,
especially when you are on a detoxification program. If you are
not drinking enough water, it is like trying to flush a toilet with no
water.
Many times hunger is mistaken for being thirsty. So when you’re hungry, first drink a glass of filtered water.
Our thirst response has been altered incorrectly from so many years
of being dehydrated. Processed foods (canned, frozen, boxed),
caffeinated drinks, and prescriptions can significantly dehydrate the
body.
The product Rehydration is amazing.
Add 15 drops to every quart of water you drink. This
homeopathic makes our cells more permeable to water. Have you
ever noticed when you drink water it just passes right through? Well, it is not being absorbed!!
Spread out most of your water drinking in the morning and early afternoon.
Do not wait till the end of the day to get it all in. This will
definitely keep you up at
night.
7 Juicing.
“Let Food Be Thy Medicine"- Hippocrates 431 B.C
Juice every day for a power pack of vitamins and enzymes.
Even organic juice in the health store is pasteurized.
Pasteurized means it was boiled a few times before being bottled.
Boil an apple 2x or even 1x and see how much vitamins and enzymes are
left!!
Juicing will add to your overall health, and it will also help in detoxifying your body. Juice ONLY ORGANIC fruits and veggies. Juicing is just as powerful as the remedies that you are given during your session.
Here are some combinations to try:
Liver/Gallbladder Detox:
8 carrots
w/ 1 cup beets & 8 carrots w/2 oz.
ginger
Joint/ kidney Detox: 6 carrots w/ 10 stalks of celery & 6carrots w/ 1 cucumber
Digestion Cleanse: 8carrots w/ 10 sprigs of parsley
Hormone Balance
8 carrots w/ 4 large cups of spinach
One or two apples can be substituted for 2 carrots to sweeten.
Slice of lemon with the rind adds a wonder zest to any mixture.
One grapefruit to any of the mixtures can be added for a different flavor.
8 Add detoxification teas to your water.
If you drink black tea or green tea make sure they are NATURALLY decaffeinated.
Simply experiment with flavors of herbal teas and make your water drinking fun. This is also an easy way to daily detoxify!!
9 Get more rest/sleep.
Liver cleansing happens between 10pm-12am.
The extra boost of energy you get at night is for liver cleansing not
to clean the house! It is crucial to get to bed before
12am.
Our bodies love routine. If you are fatigued, or your practitioner is working on your adrenals, then pay attention to this step.
Two ways to easily rebalance hormones (especially adrenals)
- Awaken and fall asleep at the same time every day.
- Eat all meals at the same time, even on weekends!
10 Have 2-3 bowel movements daily
A regular bowel movement is not 1x a day! If you eat more that one time a day, you should have more that one bowel movement.
This is very important to allow toxins to get out
of the body. If you don’t have 2-3 bowel movements a day, the
toxins get re-absorbed into the blood stream!!
As your body is detoxifying, it will put more of a load into your colon: Meaning, the toxins have to all come out of the same door.
Because of this, detoxification can cause constipation. So, it is very important that you do not become constipated. If you do, first increase your water and fiber. If this does not work, call the L.E.A.P. Healing Natural Health Center
and the practitioner will probably increase your colon support.
While your body is doing the wonderful detoxifying, it may temporarily
need some colon support.
Reasons to Detoxify:
- To improve overall health.
- We cannot live in a
bubble. Our air, water, and food have many carcinogens and
toxins. So, simply going on a detoxification regiment
and the 5 Basics will maintain a healthy clean body!

What will I notice?
- You will feel better and be more energized!

As you cleanse, your skin may have a funny odor. The skin is very
important cleansing exit for the body. If this occurs increase
your Dry Skin Brushing and Dead Sea salt baths.
- Extra odor
to bowel movements and urine. This is normal and
wonderful!! Your body is getting the toxins out!!
- For women you may see more vaginal discharge and odor. The vagina is a wonderful cleansing exit for a woman’s body.
- For women an increase in the flow of periods is normal.
Detoxification Recipes
Liver and Gall Bladder Cleanse
1-quart water
1 pinch cayenne pepper,
1 organic lemon,
1 Tbsp of organic maple syrup
1 Tbsp of olive oil
Replace one meal a day with a liver gall bladder cleanse
drink. Fasting for a few days on this wonderful combination
is also possible.
Ask your practitioner what is best for you.
Gallbladder Cleanse: Take 1 Tbsp of
olive oil (can be mixed in juice or water) before bed (3) three
times/week. Stomach must be empty for 3 hours prior to allow the
oil to cause the gallbladder to dump.
Please ask your practitioner if this is right for you.
Kidney Cleanse: The night before your
"kidney cleanse" soak 4 bunches of organic celery in (4) quarts of
water. Drink nothing but the celery water throughout
the day.
Preparation is needed for the kidney flush, please consult your practitioner.
Intense Gallbladder Cleanse
Consult your practitioner if this is right for you. Preparation beyond what is written is needed.)
For 2 full days before starting your cleanse eat normal and drink fresh organic apple juice (that you juiced). Drink at least 32oz.
Fresh-juiced apples are best, but organic apple juice from the store will still do the trick.
Day 1
Eat in the AM-anything you want (low protein).
No food the rest of the day.
Drink Plenty of water.
12:00pm Stop eating
4:00pm 1 cup of water w/ 1 Tbs Epsom Salt
6:00pm 1 cup of water w/ 1 Tbs Epsom Salt
8:00pm 1 cup of water w/ 1 Tbs Epsom Salt
9-10:00pm ½-cup olive oil w/ 1 cup of coke
10:00pm Go to sleep
Day 2
Upon waking do a cleansing enema of filtered water (no tap water). Repeat until water runs clear.
Follow with 8-10oz of organic coffee enema.
In the AM after your enemas:
Take 1 tsp of Probiotic HMF or 6 Flora Synergy 2x daily.
Take 1Tbs of Colloidal Multi Mineral.
Eat just organic fruits and vegetables and/or juiced organic fruits and vegetables the rest of Day 2.
Day 3
Take 1 tsp of Probiotic HMF or 6 Flora Synergy 2x daily.
Take 1Tbs of Colloidal Multi Mineral.
Begin to eat as normal healthy diet.
Day 4
Take 1 tsp of Probiotic HMF or 6 Flora Synergy 2x daily.
Take 1Tbs of Colloidal Multi Mineral.
Eat a normal healthy diet.
